Search Engine Marketing

As part of my series on Search Engine Domination I want to focus for a moment on Keyword Research. I was over at one of my favorite sites, Digital Point. The have some very cool Webmaster Tools there. One of them is their Keyword Suggestion Tool. This tool gives you the number of daily searches for a specific term or phrase. You get results from both Wordtracker and Overture that give you a snapshot of which phrases are searched most often.

Being in the Internet Marketing Training business, I find it interesting to see what people are actually out there searching for. This gives me ideas as to how to refine my Business goals and directions. When I see a term that is being searched for 1,000’s of times a day, I get excited. I start to think of how I can apply that to my business, and Make Money Online using this intelligence.

The real important thing here is that people are searching for things. No matter what it is, they are searching. So it stands to reason that you want to get in front of this traffic, to get your share of it.

I am writing a book on alternatives to Google Adwords, which I call Adword Killers. The whole premise of the book, is that Google is not the only game in town, and that there are many other ways and means of Marketing that are just as effective if not better, and for far less money.

I doing my research for the book, I have begun to realize that most of my traffic and leads come from my own promotional efforts which enable me to get massive exposure in the search engines for whatever keyword I want.

I also use Branding quite a bit. I am branding myself and my company as the “Go To Guys” for Internet Marketing Services. If you do a search on my name “Steve Renner” you will see what I mean. I have branded myself as expert in Internet Marketing. This has helped me attract many clients for my Consulting Service, and students for my Online Training Services, IMTrain, as well as my 2 Day Live Training, MIT workshop.

I seem to keep coming back to Search Engine Domination, as it is becoming a recurring theme for this Internet Marketing Blog. Keyword Research is the basis for dominating the search engines in any market. Find the most searched terms relevant to your product or service, and then work your way down the list to find keywords you can target that have less competition, and will be easier to dominate.

I will be discussing this in further detail in my next post.
